Arc browser gets a 22 December shutdown date
The Browser Company will retire its Arc browser on 22 December, ending a product that won a devoted following for vertical tabs and Spaces. New accounts stopped on Thursday; Arc Search loses its AI features on 23 November; on 22 December the Mac and Windows apps stop working and account data is deleted within 30 days. The company says keeping a browser secure in the age of AI costs too much and that Dia, its AI-first browser, now carries engineering effort.
