Nvidia closes in on $6 trillion market value, a first for any company
Nvidia is approaching a $6 trillion market capitalisation, a level no company has reached, after shares rose about 28% this year and added roughly $1.2 trillion of value. The stock has become the single largest contributor to the S&P 500's 14% advance in 2026, and options traders put about a 50% chance on Nvidia crossing $6 trillion by the end of October. The milestone underscores how concentrated the US market has become around a handful of AI-levered mega-caps, with Nvidia, Apple and Microsoft now above a fifth of the index.
