China's growth picks up to 4.5% as investment keeps shrinking

China's economy grew 4.5% year on year in the third quarter, beating a 4.4% poll and recovering from a three-year low of 4.3%, national statistics bureau data showed. Industrial output rose 5.5% while retail sales managed 1.1%, and fixed asset investment fell 7.2% over the first nine months with property investment down 20.6%. Growth is leaning harder on exports and technology demand, leaving consumption and housing as the unresolved drags on the 4.5%-5% annual target.
