Apple opens its Home Collection with a privacy-first Siri hub
Apple announced Apple Home Collection, a line of smart home accessories built with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, spanning indoor and outdoor cameras, thermostats, temperature sensors, a video doorbell and a smart lock. Everything runs through the Apple Home app with end-to-end encryption and no separate account. Alongside it, Apple showed HomeView, a hub with its own operating system on an A18 chip that draws on iPhone data to personalize Siri while keeping private data off the device.
