Apple's 'Welcome Home' event puts the smart home first
Apple has confirmed a product launch for Tuesday, 13 October, titled Welcome Home, focused on smart-home hardware. Expectations centre on a long-rumoured smart home hub with roughly a 6-inch square display, a new Apple TV 4K, and a refreshed HomePod mini with a faster chip and Apple's N1 wireless networking silicon. AppleInsider reports a partnership with LG for co-designed but LG-branded devices, including a smart deadbolt and security cameras, with HomePod mini colours switching to Powder Pink and Forest Green.
