Google Cloud bets on one universal work agent that can route jobs to Claude
Google Cloud introduced a single “Gemini agent” for work on 8 October, describing one agent that plans tasks, calls tools, reaches into a company's business systems and returns finished documents, email and code. It runs inside Workspace apps and can be reached through Microsoft 365 and Slack. Google says it routes each job to whichever model fits, and on day one that list includes Anthropic's Claude models alongside its own Gemini. Customers can also create “coworker agents” with their own address and scoped access, with finance and legal versions in preview.
