Amazon raises reserved GPU rates and weighs an $8bn Nvidia chip vehicle
Amazon Web Services published new hourly rates for EC2 Capacity Blocks for ML effective October 7, setting P6-B300 accelerators at $16.146 and P5en at $7.895 per accelerator-hour across regions. Separately, the Financial Times reported Amazon is in talks to move about $8 billion of Nvidia Grace Blackwell chips into a special-purpose vehicle funded by outside debt and then lease them back, keeping up to a 10% equity stake. Together the moves show how AI infrastructure is increasingly financed off balance sheet.
