Nvidia raises Shield TV Pro to $299 and ends the standard model
Nvidia raised the price of the Shield TV Pro from $199.99 to $299.99 effective October 2 and stopped producing the standard, tube-shaped Shield TV, leaving the Pro as the only model in production. The company blamed substantially higher component costs, including memory, saying the hardware is otherwise unchanged: the box still uses the Tegra X1+ chip, 3GB of RAM and 4K HDR support. The increase also applied in parts of Europe.
