Google opens Gemini 4 Argon to vetted cyber defenders only
Google unveiled Gemini 4 Argon, the first release in its Gemini 4 generation, but is withholding general access and rolling it out only to a set of trusted cyber defenders through its Fairwind Program. Chief AI architect Koray Kavukcuoglu said the company is taking part in the US government's voluntary pre-release review process before a wider launch. Google says Argon sets a state of the art on the DeepSWE v1.1 coding benchmark at 77.9% and raises output to 1 million tokens from 64,000, at an introductory $2 per million input tokens. It also confirmed dropping the planned Gemini 3.5 Pro.
