Wall Street slips as the 30-year Treasury yield hits a 24-year high
US equities closed slightly lower on Tuesday as another jump in long-term Treasury yields weighed on valuations. The S&P 500 fell 0.17% to 7,670.84, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.26% to 51,349.92 and the Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.09% to 26,797.54. The 30-year Treasury yield reached its highest intraday level since 2002. Breadth stayed thin: only about 41% of S&P 500 members traded above their 200-day moving averages. Chip and optical names bucked the decline while oil swung on the continuing US-Iran conflict.
