OpenAI opens its always-on agent Dots to paid ChatGPT users
At the same San Francisco event OpenAI introduced Dots, always-on agents powered by GPT-6 Astra that run on their own cloud computers, connect to more than 4,000 applications and can be messaged through ChatGPT, Slack and Microsoft Teams. OpenAI said sensitive actions such as changing passwords or permanently deleting data require explicit consent, and that enterprise pilots will give specialist Dots their own identities and credentials alongside governance controls in Microsoft's Agent 365. It also announced a $500 Pro tier and said ChatGPT has passed 1.2 billion weekly users.
