Google and NASA researchers use AI to map methane plumes from orbit
A Google and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory research team says its MAPL-EMIT model can identify methane plumes in satellite imagery at global scale. The project reports more detections than human experts and releases a plume database and tools intended to support monitoring and mitigation.
