US Census to release August new home sales later on Thursday after July hit a six-month low
The US Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development will publish August new residential sales at 10:00 ET on Thursday, after July sales fell 10.5% month-on-month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 607,000 — the slowest pace since January and 6.3% below a year earlier. July's median sales price of $393,800 was little changed from $403,100 in June, while inventory rose to 488,000 for a 9.6-month supply. The July release said mortgage rates climbed from 6.1% to above 6.6% from January to July.
