Saudi Arabia restarts the East-West pipeline as Brent settles below $100 for the first time since 8 September
Three sources briefed on the matter confirmed on Tuesday that Saudi Aramco has resumed operations along the East-West pipeline and plans to reload a cargo at the Red Sea port of Yanbu, ending the two-week outage triggered by drone strikes launched from Iraq. Brent settled at $98.66 on Tuesday, the first close below $100 since 8 September, while WTI slipped below $90 a barrel as US crude inventories rose by 1.8 million barrels in the week to 18 September. Iraq also reported higher exports, and traders cited renewed US-Iran diplomacy in New York as a further weight on prices.
