Samsung raises advanced foundry prices by up to 15 percent as TSMC capacity stays fully booked
Samsung Electronics has begun raising prices on some advanced foundry services by up to 15 percent as sustained AI chip demand leaves TSMC fully booked and pushes customers toward alternative foundries. Counterpoint data put TSMC at more than 70 percent of global foundry revenue in the first quarter of 2026 versus roughly 7 percent for Samsung, which has run its foundry business at a loss since 2022. Analysts told Reuters the higher rates could push Samsung's foundry unit back to profitability as early as next year.
