TSMC's Dresden fab hits topping-out milestone as ESMC confirms progress
The European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (ESMC) joint venture marked a topping-out ceremony at TSMC's under-construction Dresden fab in Germany this week, the construction milestone for laying the final beam at the highest point of a building. ESMC president Christian Koitzsch said about 2,000 workers from 106 countries are working around the clock at the site and that the project is progressing as planned and within budget. The Dresden plant is one of several European TSMC sites aimed at widening the region's access to advanced nodes.
