European stocks rise as miners lead on softer oil, easing bond rout
European equities advanced on Thursday with the pan-European STOXX 600 up 0.9 percent to 642.6 points as falling oil prices and a halt to the global bond sell-off boosted risk appetite. Metal miners climbed 2.1 percent to lead gains, autos added 1.7 percent with BMW, Renault and Volkswagen each up roughly 2 percent, while Brent crude settled below $105 a barrel at about $104 and US crude fell for a third straight session to $101.15.
