SpaceX closes out SES's O3b mPower medium-Earth-orbit constellation with final triple-satellite launch
A SpaceX Falcon 9 lifted off from Cape Canaveral on Sunday during an 87-minute window that opened at 2:49 p.m. Eastern, delivering the F11, F12 and F13 O3b mPower spacecraft to medium Earth orbit and completing SES's decade-long contract that began with Boeing and SES in 2013. The medium-altitude network — orbiting at roughly 5,000 miles, far above Starlink's 340-mile shells — sells enterprise-grade connectivity to cruise lines, airlines, telecoms backhaul and government customers. The mission also added a 29th flight to the specific Falcon 9 booster.
