Apple's 'Surprise and Shine' event at 10am Pacific on September 9 opens the John Ternus era with the iPhone Ultra, Apple's first foldable, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. Reporting puts the Ultra at a 5.5-inch outer display opening to a 7.8-inch inner panel, 4.5mm thin unfolded, Touch ID in the side button, dual 48MP rear cameras, an A20 Pro chip, 12GB of RAM and a starting price around $2,199 that Bloomberg's Gurman expects to push past $2,500 on higher storage. Pre-orders are likely on Saturday September 12 with retail availability on Friday September 18.
