Bayern's 67-matchday Bundesliga lead ends in Schalke draw as Dortmund rally
Defending champions Bayern Munich were held to a 0-0 draw at promoted Schalke on September 6, ending a 67-matchday run atop the Bundesliga table and marking the first time they had failed to score since February 2025. Schalke, who had not taken a point off Bayern in nine years, lifted the result in Gelsenkirchen with goalkeeper Manuel Neuer playing what he said could be his final match at the club. Borussia Dortmund came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Hoffenheim, with Arsenal loanee Ethan Nwaneri setting up the late deflected winner.
