Apple confirms foldable iPhone Ultra for Wednesday's 'Surprise and Shine' event
Apple's September 9 event will stage the long-rumored iPhone Ultra as its first foldable, joining the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on a fall lineup that withholds the standard iPhone 18 until spring 2027. Reporting points to a 5.5-inch cover display opening to a roughly 7.8-inch inner screen, a Touch ID power button replacing Face ID, dual rear cameras and a price expected to clear $2,000. The keynote will mark the first major launch under new CEO John Ternus, with Tim Cook shifted to executive chairman and not appearing in the event video.
