Huawei pulls Mate 90 launch into September to face Apple, unveils Kirin 9050 with logic folding
Huawei is moving its Mate 90 series launch from October to September, joining Apple's iPhone window with the Mate XT 2 tri-fold on 7 September and the standard Mate 90 lineup later in the month, according to leaks reported by Gizchina and Ofoki on 6 September. The series will be the first commercial device on the Kirin 9050 platform, which Huawei says uses a 'logic folding' dual-layer architecture to deliver a 53.5% transistor-density increase, a 37.5% area reduction and a 41% power-consumption cut against the Kirin 9030 Pro, manufactured by SMIC on DUV lithography.
