Anthropic's Q2 revenue tops OpenAI's for the first time as enterprise race tightens
Anthropic reported second-quarter revenue above USD 11.5 billion, more than double the previous quarter and a small operating profit, narrowly overtaking OpenAI's USD 6.7 billion, which grew 18% quarter over quarter but posted USD 12.3 billion in operating losses, BigGo reported on 6 September. By end-July Anthropic disclosed annualised revenue above USD 65 billion, against roughly USD 40 billion for OpenAI. The gap is driving OpenAI to refocus on Codex and foundation-model work after CEO Sam Altman acknowledged shortfalls on product direction and pre-training.
