Apple and OpenAI trade court-rule barbs before a 14 October injunction hearing
Apple has told a US court that OpenAI, Jony Ive's io Products and two former Apple employees broke local rules by adding fresh argument and testimony to a filing meant only to object to new evidence in its trade-secrets suit. Days earlier the defendants accused Apple of smuggling five expert declarations into its reply brief. Apple sued in July in the Northern District of California, alleging former design executive Tang Tan and former engineer Chang Liu took confidential material to benefit OpenAI's hardware effort. The defendants deny it; arguments are set for 14 October.
