Paramount completes its $111bn Warner Bros. Discovery takeover, creating Skydance
Paramount Skydance closed its roughly $110-111 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery on October 6, uniting two of Hollywood's oldest studios and handing chief executive David Ellison control of a group spanning movie studios, Paramount+ and HBO Max, CBS, CNN and live sports including CBS Sports and TNT Sports. The deal ends a contest with Netflix and resolves antitrust challenges; the merged company operates under the Skydance name.
