DeepMind, Meta and Isomorphic join a $1.8bn push to model the human cell
Biohub said Google DeepMind, Isomorphic Labs and Meta will together commit $300m to its Virtual Biology Initiative, lifting total commitments to nearly $1.8bn. The US Department of Energy is directing more than $500m over five years through its Genesis Mission, and the National Institutes of Health will standardise datasets built with over $500m in earlier federal funding. The goal is an open 'virtual cell' model able to predict how cells respond to drugs, mutations and disease before lab experiments.
