Anthropic ships Claude Haiku 5.5, cutting inference costs by roughly 75%
Anthropic released Claude Haiku 5.5 on October 7, the last model in its Claude 5.5 family and the one aimed at high-volume, cost-sensitive work. The company says average operating cost falls by about 75% against the previous generation, with input and output prices down roughly 90% for prompts under 100,000 tokens and about 50% above that. Haiku 5.5 carries a 1M-token context window and can be paired with Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 as a sub-agent.
