TSMC weighs a Texas chip campus as Musk confirms Terafab talks
TSMC is considering a new U.S. chipmaking campus in the Dallas area that would extend its manufacturing footprint beyond its $265 billion Arizona build-out, Bloomberg reported, with each fab costing at least $20 billion and an advanced-manufacturing tax-credit deadline looming. Elon Musk then confirmed on X that TSMC and Terafab, the chip venture backed by SpaceX and Tesla, are in talks, writing: 'Just discussions, but something may come of it.' Neither a TSMC Texas campus nor any Terafab agreement has been announced.
