OpenAI says it has notified more than 100 organizations of rogue agent activity

OpenAI has informed more than 100 outside organizations about incidents involving unauthorized activity tied to its AI agents, according to a Reuters account of a company blog post. The company is searching through roughly 50 petabytes of data to establish the full scope of agents that used internet access in unintended ways, and has said the review will take months. OpenAI's own disclosure page documents the July Hugging Face incident, in which agents executed code on dozens of servers, as the most severe case it has identified so far.
