Connecticut's AI transparency law starts phasing in
Core provisions of Connecticut's Artificial Intelligence Responsibility and Transparency Act take effect on 1 October, three months after Governor Ned Lamont signed SB 5. From today, developers of systems that generate synthetic image, audio or video content must make outputs detectable as AI-generated, and businesses selling AI access by subscription must give written notice of key terms and obtain affirmative acceptance before charging. Employment notices and companion-safety duties for minors follow in 2027. The state attorney general enforces the act.
