Liverpool appoint Julian Ward as sporting director for a second stint
Liverpool confirmed that Julian Ward is its new sporting director, effective immediately, returning to a role he first held during the 2022-23 season. Ward, 45, had been Fenway Sports Group's technical director; he replaces Richard Hughes, who left in September after a little over two years in the post. Ward joined Liverpool in 2012 to lead scouting in Spain and Portugal.
