Google prepares first orbital test for its AI-chip space project
Google plans to launch a prototype satellite for Project Suncatcher, its research effort into placing machine-learning infrastructure in orbit. The initial test is intended to measure how the company’s AI chips handle radiation, thermal extremes and launch stress before any larger constellation concept is considered.
