Amazon signs up to $8B Generac deal for data-centre backup power
Amazon and Generac unveiled a long-term supply agreement worth up to $8 billion on Thursday for backup power generators at Amazon data centres, with initial deliveries of $2.4 billion expected in 2027 and 2028 as the hyperscaler scales its AI build-out. Generac granted Amazon a warrant to acquire up to approximately 1.69 million shares at about $200.93, roughly 2.6 percent of Generac, with 307,954 shares vesting immediately and the remainder tied to purchase milestones. Generac shares jumped more than 40 percent on the news.
