New York Times reports Inspur routed $5.6bn of Nvidia Blackwell AI chips to China via Aivres
A New York Times investigation published on September 6 says Inspur Group, a Chinese server maker blacklisted by Washington in March 2023, has continued to receive advanced US AI technology through its California subsidiary Aivres. Aivres exported more than $5.6bn of advanced technology from the US to Southeast Asia between April 2024 and February 2026, including more than $3bn of computers equipped with Nvidia Blackwell-generation chips, according to shipping records and trade documents analysed by ImportGenius. Federal officials have begun looking into the subsidiary's business.
