Arsenal make it nine in a row as Guimaraes and Saka see off stubborn Sunderland
Defending Premier League champions Arsenal beat Sunderland 2-0 at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, with Bruno Guimaraes breaking the resistance in the 58th minute and Bukayo Saka converting a stoppage-time penalty. The result is Arsenal's ninth straight league win — a run last matched by the club in March 2004 — and moves them three points clear at the top. Mikel Arteta still felt aggrieved that the penalty was given at all, calling it 'not a penalty in any case, in any game, in any context, in any league' after reviewing it ten times.
