SpaceX is shifting its data-center strategy to redesign existing Colossus facilities around power and cooling redundancy rather than keep adding floor space, potentially slowing new build-outs, The Information reported. The move follows the company's choice to lease Colossus 1 to Anthropic after internal latency problems rather than rely on it for Grok development, and pairs with SpaceXAI's July commitment to replace 69 mobile gas turbines at the Mississippi site with a 1.2 GW permanent natural-gas plant by July 2027 to firm up local generation.
