Quantum computing weekly: Pasqal-KACST pact, Xanadu CAD 195M, IBM Nighthawk r2 specs published
The quantum computing sector opened September with a string of hardware and capital moves, according to The Qubit Report's weekly round-up for the week ending 5 September. Pasqal signed with Saudi Arabia's KACST, Xanadu locked in CAD 195 million in financing, IBM published specs for the 120-qubit Nighthawk r2 with mid-circuit reset and more than 100,000 circuits per second — about 25 times Heron throughput — and Diraq confirmed an eight-qubit silicon machine destined for an Equinix cage in Sydney with installation aimed at October 2026.
