OpenAI rolls out ChatGPT ads in India starting with 50 brands
OpenAI said on Thursday it will begin running ads on the ChatGPT Free and Go tiers in India, the company's largest user market outside the United States with more than 100 million weekly active users. The first cohort spans 50 brands through agency partners WPP and Omnicom, with a self-serve ad manager scheduled to launch on September 4 carrying a daily minimum budget of about 7.60 dollars, marking OpenAI's first material step away from a pure subscription revenue model ahead of its planned 2027 listing.
